History

The Department of Public Health was established on 1 January 2005 by a merger between the former Departments of General Medical Practice, Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Social Medicine, Environmental and Occupational Medicine, Nursing and the two independent interdisciplinary master’s degree programmes: Master of Public Health and Master of Science (Health Sciences). The discipline Health Services Research and a cooperation within the framework of what we have named the Environment for Public Health were established in 2007 and 2008, respectively. In the autumn 2010, a Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Public Health was introduced. In 2011, the Department of Sport Science merged with the Department of Public Health.
