Intensive Care Nursing and Home Mechanical Ventilation

The research group for Intensive Care Nursing and Home Mechanical Ventilation focuses on all aspects of the two fields of study; intensive care nursing and home mechanical ventilation. In a five-year programme, The ICU Cognitive Rehabilitation Nursing Research Programme, we develop, test, evaluate and implement nurse-led interventions to support patients’ cognitive rehabilitation. And our research is supported by a Novo Nordisk Foundation grant of 7.5 million DKK.

Research areas

The group’s research falls into primarily three overall research areas:

  • Intensive care nursing
  • Humanising the ICU
  • Follow-up interventions and post intensive care syndrome (PICS)
