I am a Medical Doctor initially trained as an Orthopaedic surgeon but subsequently working in Emergency and Sports Medicine. I also consult privately on medico-legal and insurance matters. I have experience
managing elite athletes of various sports at the international level. My past research experiences have ranged from seeking protocols to improve cardiovascular performance using Functional Electrical
Stimulation in spinal cord injury Paralympians, to injury rehabilitation and psychological motivation techniques in able-bodied Olympians. My first doctoral research is a socio-legal discourse on how the present guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Agency's code predisposes elite athletes to inadvertent doping in the context of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) use. My second doctoral
research explores the strengths and deficiencies of Structural Equation Modelling in explaining the sports psychology of performance enhancement.
