Health literacy and local environments

Purpose

Greater equity in health can be achieved by increasing the ability to use health knowledge and by providing resources that promote health across society.

In this programme, we take everyday life as our point of departure and focus on the environments people inhabit and the local community as a framework for health literacy–oriented initiatives (community health literacy).

LIVE – co-creation on ethnic minorities' health literacy

Purpose
Map factors influencing ethnic minorities' access to health services and, on that basis, co‑create and test quality improvement initiatives. 

Description
Used a systems‑based approach (STICKE) and group‑based modelling to improve community health literacy with a focus on ethnic minorities' access to health services. 

Partners
Public Health Aarhus, Department West, Aarhus Municipality and a wide range of local actors in postcode 8220.
